As dogs age, they may turn into a picky eater and/or start eating less. This change may happen suddenly, but more often than not, it's a gradual change.

Thankfully at Portland Pet Food Company, we know all about what to feed an old dog that won’t eat. In fact, it’s the reason that Katie McCarron founded the company! In 2014, Katie became concerned when her senior dog, Rosie, showed less interest in dog food and began to lose weight. When she researched what went into most dog foods on the market, she knew that she needed to come up with a better, healthier, fresher option.

Old Dogs Have Sensitive Stomachs
As they get older, dogs can develop sensitive stomachs or an aversion to dog food or treats that they’ve been for eating years. This can be a natural part of the aging process as their stomach and intestines become less able to break down and absorb nutrients as well as they once did. Signs of a sensitive stomach can include: loss of appetite, vomiting, and diarrhea.
