David McCarron | Hound Dog
David McCarron, MD, FACP, was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is a key part of PPFC's business growth. He graduated from Williams College (BA, Cum Laude, Chemistry) and later attended the University of Pennsylvania Medical School to receive his Doctorate of Medicine. In addition to his degrees, David is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology. His medical career includes directing the Nephrology Division at Oregon Health & Sciences University and its internationally-recognized research program directed at nutrition’s impact on cardiovascular disease. There, his research involved large-scale human trials, as well as basic research, and was funded by NIH, USDA, AHA, NASA, and a handful of private foundations and corporations. David has published more than 250 peer-reviewed papers and has been a speaker at research events in more than 20 countries. After selling Academic Network, which was founded with Katie, he became a private consultant specializing in the food industry. Since his wife Katie started PPFC in 2014, David has continued to help through domestic and international business outreach.
