Five Fun Dog-Friendly Fall Adventures!

Posted by on

The Portland air is crisp, leaves have begun to change and the skies are still sunny, with grey rain clouds on the horizon: It's officially Fall- and we couldn't be happier! Here are some of the ways we'll make this autumn count.

Go apple picking at a local orchard.

Fruits and veggies straight from the farm taste SO much better- one of the reasons we use fresh ingredients from local growers in our meals and treats 😊An orchard's the perfect place to let your dog explore while you enjoy picking some great local produce! Make sure you bring a leash and check ahead to make sure the orchard is dog-friendly.

Take in the autumn foliage on a hike

Oregon scenery stays pretty evergreen (pun intended), but you can find pockets of beautiful Autumn colors throughout the country! Bring along lots of water, snacks for both of you, and other safety must-haves for hiking.

Have a Howl-o-ween party!

If your dog's the social type, or you have friends with pooches too, suggest a Dog + Owner costume party in the local dog park! Provide refreshments for the humans and lots of spooky booooones for the pooches!

Eat ALL the pumpkin things

The best part of Autumn? Warm pumpkiny treats spiced with cinnamon and cloves! Don't let your dog miss out as you sip your latte.

Our brew biscuits with pumpkin and gluten/grain-free pumpkin biscuits are made with real pumpkin. It's a great source of fiber, Vitamin A, essential antioxidant beta-carotene, potassium and iron.

Enjoy quality family time

Dogs are a part of the family, so make sure they're getting the love and thanks they deserve for being our constant companions! One way we include our pups in the celebrations is with a homemade holiday meal just for them. This really caught on, so this year, we're proud to share our special recipe with you!

Grandma Ada, Kate's mom, always fed her two favorite grandpups turkey from the table! Now, we turned her love of feeding table scraps into a healthy holiday feast with local turkey and organic Oregon coast cranberries mixed with other vegetables. It’s the perfect way to allow your pooch to partake in all the festivities!

For sensitive pooches who still want a treat, check out our gluten-free gingerbread biscuits. Made with all natural Bob's Red Mill flour, spices and everything nice, these crumbly biscuits are baked twice, so that older pups with weak teeth can enjoy them too!
